Propofol-Lipuro
Propofol-Lipuro is a GABA receptor agonist Small molecule drug developed by University Hospital, Grenoble. It is currently in Phase 3 development for General anesthesia, Sedation for mechanical ventilation.
Propofol-Lipuro is a short-acting sedative-hypnotic agent that induces and maintains anesthesia by enhancing inhibitory neurotransmission mediated by GABA.
Propofol-Lipuro is an intravenous anesthetic used for induction and maintenance of general anesthesia. It acts as a positive allosteric modulator of the GABA-A receptor, an anion channel.

Mechanism of action
Propofol works by increasing the activity of GABA, the primary inhibitory neurotransmitter in the brain, which leads to a decrease in neuronal excitability and a reduction in the activity of the central nervous system. This results in sedation, hypnosis, and amnesia. Propofol's mechanism of action is thought to be related to its ability to modulate the activity of GABA receptors, specifically the GABA_A receptor subtype.
