Oral Prednisone - Hospital Dose Steroids
Oral Prednisone - Hospital Dose Steroids is a Corticosteroid (glucocorticoid) Small molecule drug developed by Berinstein, Jeffrey. It is currently FDA-approved for Acute inflammatory conditions requiring high-dose corticosteroid therapy, Autoimmune disorders (e.g., lupus, vasculitis), Severe allergic reactions. Also known as: prednisone.
Prednisone is a corticosteroid that suppresses the immune system and reduces inflammation by binding to glucocorticoid receptors and inhibiting pro-inflammatory cytokine production.

Mechanism of action
Prednisone enters cells and binds to cytoplasmic glucocorticoid receptors, which then translocate to the nucleus and modulate gene transcription. This leads to decreased production of inflammatory mediators (cytokines, chemokines, adhesion molecules) and suppression of immune cell activation and proliferation. At higher hospital doses, these anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive effects are pronounced and used to manage acute inflammatory and autoimmune conditions.
