Mechanism of action
This is a premixed insulin formulation containing 75% insulin lispro protamine suspension (intermediate-acting) and 25% insulin lispro (rapid-acting). The rapid-acting component mimics the body's natural insulin secretion in response to meals by binding to insulin receptors and promoting glucose uptake into cells, while the intermediate-acting component provides sustained basal insulin levels between meals and overnight.
