Mechanism of action
Insulin analog mid-mixture products combine rapid-acting and intermediate-acting insulin analogs in a fixed ratio to provide both immediate and sustained glucose control. The rapid-acting component begins working within minutes to address postprandial (after-meal) glucose spikes, while the intermediate-acting component provides basal insulin coverage over several hours. Together, they approximate the physiologic insulin secretion pattern in non-diabetic individuals.
