Mechanism of action
The regimen addresses alcohol-related liver disease through multiple pathways: abstinence from alcohol reduces ongoing hepatotoxicity, hepatitis treatment targets viral or inflammatory components of liver injury, and probiotics restore beneficial gut bacteria that have been depleted by alcohol use and liver disease, thereby reducing bacterial translocation and endotoxemia that perpetuate liver inflammation.
