Mechanism of action

Estriol is a naturally occurring estrogen that acts as an estrogen receptor agonist in vaginal and urogenital tissues. When applied topically as a cream, it promotes vaginal epithelial maturation, increases vaginal blood flow, and restores normal vaginal flora and pH, thereby alleviating symptoms of atrophic vaginitis and urogenital atrophy associated with menopause or estrogen deficiency.
