Mechanism of action
It works by inhibiting the C1 esterase complex, which is involved in the activation of the complement system and the release of bradykinin, a potent vasodilator. This leads to decreased levels of bradykinin and reduced inflammation in blood vessels, alleviating symptoms of hereditary angioedema.
