The weighted average net selling price of a drug to all US purchasers.
Definition
Average Sales Price (ASP), reported quarterly to CMS, is the weighted-average net price manufacturers receive across all US sales (net of discounts, rebates, prompt-pay terms). ASP+6% (now ASP+3% under IRA Medicare drug-price negotiation) is the reimbursement basis for Medicare Part B physician-administered drugs.
