NICE TA
The NICE process that decides whether the NHS will fund a new medicine.
Definition
A NICE Technology Appraisal (TA) is the formal evaluation NICE conducts to decide whether the NHS in England should fund a new medicine. Uses cost per QALY (typically £20–30k threshold, with severity modifier and end-of-life flexibility up to £100k+). Single TA (STA) is standard; Multiple TA (MTA) for class reviews. Recommendation drives automatic NHS funding within 30/60 days.
