Mechanism of action
Zinc acts as a structural and catalytic component of over 300 enzymes involved in metabolism, immunity, and cell signaling. It is critical for T-cell development and function, antibody production, and wound healing. Zinc deficiency impairs immune response and delays tissue repair, while supplementation restores these functions in deficient populations.
