Mechanism of action
When injected into the submucosal layer, ICG fluoresces in the near-infrared spectrum (700–900 nm), allowing surgeons to visualize lymph nodes, blood vessels, and tissue planes intraoperatively using specialized imaging equipment. This enhanced visualization improves surgical precision and completeness of resection, particularly in colorectal and gastrointestinal oncology procedures.
