Mechanism of action

Sputnik Light uses a recombinant adenovirus type 5 (Ad5) as a viral vector to introduce genetic material encoding the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein into host cells. This triggers both cellular and humoral immune responses, generating T-cell and antibody-mediated immunity against the virus. It is administered as a single-dose vaccine or as a booster component in heterologous prime-boost regimens.
