Mechanism of action
The extract contains fatty acids and phytosterols that inhibit the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT) via 5-alpha reductase inhibition, and may also have anti-inflammatory and antiproliferative effects on prostate tissue. This reduces prostate enlargement and associated lower urinary tract symptoms in men with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
