Mechanism of action
As an NSAID, pranoprofen blocks COX-1 and COX-2 enzymes, thereby decreasing production of inflammatory prostaglandins in ocular tissues. This reduces inflammation, pain, and swelling in the eye. When formulated as eye drops, it provides local anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects for various ocular conditions.
