Mechanism of action
A placebo of Acetyl-L-Carnitine contains no active ingredient and produces therapeutic effects only through placebo response mechanisms. Acetyl-L-Carnitine itself is an acetylated form of the amino acid L-carnitine that supports mitochondrial energy metabolism, but the placebo version is inert.
