Mechanism of action

OraVerse works as a non-selective alpha-adrenergic antagonist that competitively blocks the effects of epinephrine and norepinephrine used in local anesthetic formulations. By antagonizing alpha-1 and alpha-2 adrenergic receptors in the vasculature, it promotes vasodilation and accelerates the resorption and clearance of the vasoconstrictor, thereby reducing the duration of local anesthesia-induced numbness and hemostasis.
