Mechanism of action
Norelgestromin is a progestin that inhibits ovulation by suppressing the release of gonadotropin-releasing hormone. Ethinyl estradiol is an estrogen that also contributes to ovulation suppression and alters the cervical mucus and uterine lining to prevent sperm penetration.
