Mycophenolate Mofetil Cap./Tab.
Mycophenolate Mofetil Cap./Tab. is a Inosine monophosphate dehydrogenase (IMPDH) inhibitor; immunosuppressant Small molecule drug developed by Chong Kun Dang Pharmaceutical. It is currently FDA-approved for Prevention of organ rejection in renal, cardiac, and hepatic transplant recipients, Treatment of active lupus nephritis, Treatment of active rheumatoid arthritis (in combination with other agents). Also known as: Myrept® Cap./Tab..
Mycophenolate mofetil inhibits inosine monophosphate dehydrogenase (IMPDH), selectively suppressing T and B lymphocyte proliferation to prevent organ rejection and autoimmune responses.
Mycophenolate Mofetil Capsule/Tablet is a small molecule inhibitor of the enzyme inosine-5'-monophosphate dehydrogenase (IMPDH). It is used to treat various conditions, including Chronic Renal Failure, Kidney Transplantation, and Primary Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis (FSGS), often in combination with other immunosuppressive agents.

Mechanism of action
MMF is a prodrug that is rapidly hydrolyzed to mycophenolic acid (MPA), which preferentially inhibits IMPDH type II, the predominant isoform in activated lymphocytes. This blocks guanosine nucleotide synthesis required for lymphocyte DNA replication, leading to selective immunosuppression without affecting other cell types as severely. It is used to prevent rejection in transplant recipients and to treat autoimmune conditions.
