Mechanism of action
Methylcellulose is a cellulose derivative that functions as an artificial tear substitute and ocular lubricant. It increases tear film viscosity and stability, protecting the corneal and conjunctival epithelium from desiccation and mechanical irritation. The formulation helps maintain ocular surface hydration and provides a protective barrier.
