Mechanism of action
Methylcellulose is a cellulose derivative that functions as an artificial tear and ocular lubricant. It increases tear film viscosity and provides a protective coating over the cornea and conjunctiva, reducing friction and irritation. This helps relieve symptoms of dry eye and provides comfort during and after ophthalmic procedures.
