Mechanism of action

The vaccine contains live attenuated strains of measles, mumps, and rubella viruses that replicate in the body but do not cause disease in immunocompetent individuals. This replication triggers both humoral (antibody) and cell-mediated immune responses, creating immunological memory. Upon exposure to wild-type virus, the primed immune system rapidly produces neutralizing antibodies and activates T cells to prevent infection or reduce disease severity.
