Latanoprost/Timolol therapy
Latanoprost/Timolol therapy is a Prostaglandin analog / Beta-blocker combination Small molecule drug developed by Aristotle University Of Thessaloniki. It is currently FDA-approved for Open-angle glaucoma, Ocular hypertension. Also known as: Xalacom.
Latanoprost reduces intraocular pressure by increasing uveoscleral outflow of aqueous humor, while timolol decreases aqueous humor production via beta-adrenergic receptor antagonism.

Mechanism of action
Latanoprost is a prostaglandin F analog that binds to prostaglandin F receptors on the ciliary muscle, facilitating drainage of fluid from the eye through the unconventional uveoscleral pathway. Timolol is a non-selective beta-blocker that reduces aqueous humor secretion by the ciliary body. The combination provides additive intraocular pressure-lowering effects through complementary mechanisms.
