Mechanism of action
The Erector Spinae Block is a regional anesthesia procedure that uses anatomical landmarks to guide injection of local anesthetic around the erector spinae muscle group in the posterior trunk. This blocks sensory and motor nerves in the thoracic and abdominal wall, providing perioperative analgesia and reducing the need for systemic opioids. The technique is being evaluated in Phase 3 trials for efficacy and safety in various surgical applications.
