Mechanism of action
As a live biotherapeutic, L. fermentum colonizes the gastrointestinal tract, producing short-chain fatty acids and other metabolites that strengthen the intestinal epithelial barrier, reduce pathogenic bacterial overgrowth, and promote balanced immune responses.
