Mechanism of action
Lactate mimics the natural lactic acid produced by vaginal lactobacilli, helping to maintain an acidic vaginal environment (pH 3.8–4.5) that supports healthy commensal flora and inhibits pathogenic overgrowth. This physiologic approach reduces vaginal dryness, irritation, and pain during intercourse without systemic hormone absorption.
