Mechanism of action
The vaccine contains chemically inactivated (killed) SARS-CoV-2 virus particles that cannot cause infection but retain antigenic epitopes. When administered, these particles trigger both humoral (antibody) and cell-mediated immune responses, priming B cells to produce neutralizing antibodies and T cells to recognize and eliminate infected cells. This approach provides protection against COVID-19 infection and severe disease.
