Mechanism of action

Gonal-F (follitropin alfa) is a recombinant human FSH that binds to FSH receptors on ovarian granulosa cells, promoting follicle development and maturation. This leads to increased estrogen production and the development of multiple mature oocytes, which are then retrieved for in vitro fertilization or other assisted reproductive techniques.
