Mechanism of action
As a fluorinated corticosteroid, fluoromethalone penetrates ocular tissues and activates intracellular glucocorticoid receptors, leading to decreased production of inflammatory mediators, reduced leukocyte infiltration, and suppression of immune cell activation. This results in reduced inflammation, edema, and discomfort in ocular inflammatory conditions.
