Mechanism of action

Fibrin sealant is a topical hemostatic agent composed of fibrinogen and thrombin that polymerizes at the wound site to create a stable fibrin clot. It is applied directly to bleeding surfaces during surgery to promote rapid hemostasis and reduce blood loss. The product is particularly used in hemipelvis procedures where achieving hemostasis in complex pelvic anatomy is challenging.
