Mechanism of action
The gel contains sodium fluoride as its active ingredient, which penetrates the enamel surface and facilitates the incorporation of fluoride into the hydroxyapatite crystal structure, making teeth more resistant to demineralization. It also reduces the metabolic activity of cariogenic bacteria, thereby decreasing acid production. Regular application helps reverse early enamel demineralization and prevent cavity formation.
