Mechanism of action

Paracetamol (acetaminophen) works primarily through inhibition of central cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, which decreases prostaglandin production in the brain and spinal cord. This leads to reduced pain perception and lowering of the hypothalamic temperature set point. The effervescent formulation enhances rapid absorption and onset of action compared to standard tablets.
