Mechanism of action
Cyclophosphamide is an alkylating agent that cross-links DNA and preferentially depletes B and T lymphocytes. Azathioprine is a purine analog that inhibits nucleotide synthesis and lymphocyte proliferation. Corticosteroids inhibit cytokine production and immune cell activation. Together, these agents provide potent immunosuppression used in severe autoimmune and inflammatory conditions.
