Mechanism of action
The vaccine contains chemically inactivated SARS-CoV-2 virus particles that cannot cause infection but retain antigenic properties. When administered, these particles trigger both humoral (antibody) and cell-mediated immune responses, enabling the body to recognize and neutralize the live virus upon exposure. This approach has been used successfully in other viral vaccines for decades.
