Mechanism of action
Clobetasol propionate, the active ingredient, binds to glucocorticoid receptors in skin cells and immune cells, reducing the production of inflammatory cytokines and mediators. This leads to decreased inflammation, itching, and skin lesion severity in inflammatory dermatological conditions. As a Class I (super-potent) corticosteroid, it is among the strongest topical steroids available.
