Nimbex (CISATRACURIUM)
Nimbex (generic name: CISATRACURIUM) is a Nondepolarizing Neuromuscular Blocker Small molecule drug developed by AbbVie. It is currently FDA-approved (first approved 1995) for General anesthesia, Muscle relaxation, function, Skeletal Muscle Relaxation for Endotracheal Intubation.
Nimbex works by blocking the action of acetylcholine at the neuromuscular junction, preventing muscle contraction.
Nimbex is a small molecule used in medical research for conditions such as Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome, Muscle Relaxation, and Postoperative Residual Curarization. It is also studied for its effects on Neurophysiology and Residual Neuromuscular Block.

Mechanism of action
Cisatracurium besylate binds competitively to cholinergic receptors on the motor end-plate to antagonize the action of acetylcholine, resulting in blockade of neuromuscular transmission. This action is antagonized by acetylcholinesterase inhibitors such as neostigmine.
