Mechanism of action
Clobetasol propionate is a Class I (super-potent) corticosteroid that works by activating intracellular glucocorticoid receptors, leading to decreased production of inflammatory mediators, reduced immune cell infiltration, and suppression of cutaneous inflammation. It is applied topically to affected skin areas where it exerts local anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and vasoconstrictive effects.
