Mechanism of action

Benzoyl peroxide is a potent antimicrobial and keratolytic agent that generates reactive oxygen species to eliminate Cutibacterium acnes (formerly Propionibacterium acnes) and exfoliates dead skin cells. Sulfur acts as a mild keratolytic and antimicrobial agent that helps unclog pores and reduce sebaceous gland activity. Together, they address multiple pathogenic factors in acne formation.
