There is provided a method for making an odometer wheel comprising mixing a photosensitive pigment with a polymeric material, said pigment having a colour which is modifiable by application of laser energy, and forming said wheel from the resultant mixture. There is further provided a method for marking a surface of an odometer wheel with a character. The odometer wheel is suitable for incorporation in a dose counter for use in a metered dose inhaler for the delivery of respirable medicament.
