USPTO Abstract
The invention comprises compounds of the formula <FORM:0828231/IV (b)/1> in which Y is halogen, n is 0-2, m is 0-5 and m+n are at least 2, especially compounds having the formula <FORM:0828231/IV (b)/2> in which one U is -SO2NH2, the other U is hydrogen, one V is Cl or CF3 and the other V is H or Cl, and one W is Cl or CF3 and the other is Cl, and a process for making such compounds by the reaction of an isocyanate of the benzene series with a primary aminobenzene containing an H2N-SO2-group, the reactants being so chosen that the product contains at least two substitutents selected from halogen and CF3. In examples, 2 - amino - 4 - trifluoromethyl - 5 - chlorobenzenesulphonic amide reacts with 3-trifluoromethyl-4-chlorophenyl isocyanate to give the compound <FORM:0828231/IV (b)/3> and a number of similar compounds, some containing bromine or iodine, are made by the same method. The products are useful for protecting keratinous material from attack by insects. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 753,171.
