USPTO Abstract
An injector device 200 for use with a syringe (150, fig 1a) holding a medicament is disclosed. The syringe is accommodated within a housing 205 and the device includes means such as a piston 255 for advancing the plunger of the syringe, when accommodated in the housing, to expel the medicament held by the syringe. Mechanical energy for driving the plunger advancing means is transferred, optionally by keyed recess 545, form an external source such as a base station (900, fig 9) and stored in the device, optionally by a spring 251. A trigger 253 is used to trigger the plunger of the syringe, when accommodated in the housing, to expel the medicament held by the syringe using the stored energy. In another aspect, a base station for the injector is provided. In a further aspect, a handling element for use with a syringe is also provided.
