USPTO Abstract

A dispensing apparatus comprises a housing for receiving a pressurised container containing product for dispensation, an indicator provided with a series of markings indicative of quantities of product in the container, a designator for designating one of the markings of the indicator, and means for effecting relative movement between the indicator and the designator so as to designate subsequent markings of the series. Embodiments include an endless double or single sided indicator strip (20, 50 300 Figs 1a-h, 2a-f, 3g,j) ratehet moved past a housing window; a ratchet moved graduated wheel (90 3a-f, 4a-c) with a slidable display member 86 engaging a spiral groove (93) and moving radially as the wheel is rotated; or an indicator moving axially along a spiral track in a cylindrical member either around (Fig 5a-l) or alongside (6a-m) the container and rotated on cylinder depression by angled surfaces on lugs (156, 191) within the housing.
