1497044 Salts of phenyl alkanoic acids SPA SOC PRODOTTI ANTIBIOTICI SpA 6 March 1975 [7 March 1974] 10239/74 Heading C2C Novel salts of Formula I wherein R 1 and R 2 , which may be the same or different, are hydrogen atoms or lower alkyl radicals, R 3 is a halogen atom or an alkyl radical containing up to 5 carbon atoms, which may be straight-chained or branched, or is an alkoxy, alkenyloxy or cycloalkyl radical or is a phenyl, phenoxy or benzoyl radical, the aromatic nucleus of which may be substituted by one or more halogen atoms, R 4 is a hydrogen or halogen atom or an alkyl radical containing up to 5 carbon atoms, which may be straightchained or branched, or is an alkoxy, alkenyloxy or cycloalkyl radical or is a phenyl, phenoxy or benzoyl radical, the aromatic nucleus of which may be substituted by one or more halogen atoms, B is a primary, secondary or tertiary amino group or a guanidino or amidino group and n is a whole number not greater than 5 are prepared by action of acid on base. Pharmaceutical compositions in conventional forms for oral, rectal, topical and parenteral administration and having analgesic and antiinflammatory activity comprise an above novel salt and a carrier or diluent and optionally an antibiotic.
