1495778 Hexamethyleneimines JOHN WYETH & BRO Ltd 16 June 1976 [18 June 1975] 25891/75 Addition to 1285025 Heading C2C Novel compounds II in which R<SP>4</SP> is C 1-6 alkyl, R<SP>5</SP> is C 1-6 alkyl, C 2-6 alkenyl, C 2-6 alkynyl or cyclopropylmethyl and R<SP>6</SP> is 1-adamantoyl, and pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition and quaternary ammonium salts thereof, are prepared by esterifying a corresponding phenol with a reactive derivative of adamantane-1- carboxylic acid, followed, if required, by conversion of a resulting free base into a salt or vice versa. Analgesic compositions for oral or parenteral administration, comprise one of the above novel compounds together with a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.
