1495176 Dibenzazepines CIBA-GEIGY AG 25 Sept 1975 [27 Sept 1974] 39319/75 Heading C2C Compounds of the general formula (Hal=F, Cl, Br; R=H, F, Cl, Br) are prepared by (a) reacting the corresponding carbonyl chloride or bromide with ammonia, or (b) dehydrohalogenating a compound of the formula (one of Y 1,2 =H, the other=halogen). The preparation of starting materials for process (b) is described. The above compounds are anticonvulsants, and may be administered in the form of pharmaceutical preparations containing them in association with a carrier.
