1479283 Inhaler for powdered medicament BESPAK INDUSTRIES Ltd 22 July 1974 [23 July 1973[ 35003/73 Heading A5T An inhaler for powdered medicament in capsulated form comprises a housing 10 having a chamber 15 for a capsule which is punctured at one end by a needle 22 operated by a slide 29 external of the housing and at the other end by a needle 21 held within a cover 23 for a mouthpiece 17, whereby in use after puncturing the cover is removed and a supply of pressurized air made available by compressing bellows 12, the air being retained by a valve 20 until a user inhales through the mouthpiece and causes air to enter an aperture 33 and move a vane 30 against its spring 32 to open valve 20 and allow the pressurised air to be expelled through the mouthpiece taking with it the medicament in the capsule. The bellows is retained within a cylindrical recess 11 formed with an air inlet valve 13, the vane is pivoted at 31 and the needle 22 biased to its withdrawn position by a spring 26.
