1458148 Anti-ulcer compositions JOHN WYETH & BRO Ltd 15 April 1975 [19 April 1974 3 Dec 1974] 17224/74 and 52242/74 Addition to 1432378 Heading A5B [Also in Division C2] Therapeutic compositions having anti-ulcer activity comprise compounds of formula and their acid addition salts, wherein X is CN, CONHR', CSNHR' or CO 2 R"; R' is H or alkyl; R" is R<SP>1</SP> or alkali metal, R<SP>2</SP> and R<SP>3</SP> are each H, alkyl, or optionally substituted aryl or aralkyl; R<SP>4</SP> is H, or one or more of halogen, alkyl, alkoxy, or optionally substituted aryl or aralkyl; and n is 1-3. Administration may be by (e.g.) the oral or parenteral routes, and oral compositions may include one or more antacid ingredients e.g. aluminium hydroxide, magnesium hydroxide or bismuth carbonate, aluminium glyicinate, calcium carbonate, magnesium trisilicate, sodium bicarbonate or the alumina gel described in Specification 1284394.
