1424432 Compositions containing synthetic D-penicillamine DEUTSCHE GOLD-UND SILBER - SOHEIDEANSTALT 23 March 1973 [25 March 1972 11 July 1972] 14158/73 Heading A5B [Also in Division C2] A pharmaceutical composition comprises fully synthetic D-penicillamine obtained by resolution of a D, L-penicillamine derivative of general formula: in which Ac represents an acyl group, Z represents H or together with Ac represents a diacyl radical, R represents H, a benzyl radical or an acyl group and R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>2</SP> which may be the same or different, each represent H, C 1 -C<SP>8</SP> alkyl or a cycloalkyl or aryl radical, with an optically active base and converting the D-isomer obtained to D-penicillamine, together with at least one pharmaceutically acceptable additive or excipient. The compositions may be made up in forms suitable for oral, parenteral, rectal, vaginal or local administration or may be in the form of an inhalation. The compositions may contain other active ingredients such as analgesics, antihistamines, antiphlogistics, spasmolytics, geriatics, liver therapeutics, vitamins, trace elements and steroids. In examples salicylamide, α-tocopherol and ascorbic acid may be present.
