1404989 Aqueous dispersions of copolymers of monoesters of dicarboxylic acids BADISCHE ANILIN- & SODA-FABRIK AG 15 Dec 1972 [18 Dec 1971] 57930/72 Heading C3P [Also in Division C2] An aqueous dispersion of a copolymer of olefinicially unsaturated monomers which contain from 0À1 to 20% by weight of the total weight of the polymer of polymerized units of a monoester of maleic or fumaric acid or a salt thereof, the ester group of the monoester having the general formula -COO-CH 2 -CH 2 -R in which R is N-pyrrolidonyl, N-morpholinyl or C 1 to C 4 O-alkyl. In the examples methacrylamide, acrylamide, methyl acrylate, the sodium salt of the maleic monoester of N-#-hydroxyethylpyrrolidone, n-butyl acrylate, styrene, the acrylic ester of N-#-hydroxyethylpyrrolidone, the sodium salt of the mono-#-methoxyethyl ester of maleic acid, acrylic acid, the potassium salt of #-N-morpholinylethyl monomaleate, butadiene, vinyl acetate and ethyl acrylate are copolymerized in the presence of water, sulphated reaction product of ethylene oxide and p-iso-octylphenol, turkey red oil, ascorbic acid, sodium persulphate, sodium bisulphite, C 16 alkyl sulphate, tetrasodium phosphate, ammonium persulphate, sodium lauryl sulphate, potassium persulphate and sodium pyrosulphate.
