1391862 Benzodiazepines YEDA RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT CO Ltd 6 March 1974 [4 April 1973] 16109/73 Heading C2C -Compounds of the general formula (R 1 , 2 =H, halogen, NO 2 , CH 3 , CN, CF 3 ; R 3 =H, Me; R 4 =H, Me, Et), their salts and N-oxides and the corresponding oxaziridinobenzodiazepines are prepared by reacting the corresponding 2-carbamoylbenzophenone with R 3 CHO, replacing the hydroxyl group in the resulting N- hydroxyalkyi derivative by a leaving atom or group and treating the product with ammonia, optionally followed by oxidation. The above compounds are psychotropic agents, and may be administered in the form of pharmaceutical preparations containing them in association with a carrier.
