1379533 Oximes of phthalaldehydic acid derivatives ENDO LABORATORIES Inc 29 May 1973 [30 May 1972 19 April 1973] 25464/73 Heading C2C Novel compounds I in which R is hydrogen or acetyl, R<SP>1</SP> is phenyl, morpholino or phenyl substituted by one or two substituents selected from chlorine, bromine, fluorine, trifluoromethyl, nitro, methoxy or ethoxy and " alk " is alkylene of 1 to 3 C atoms with the proviso that when R<SP>1</SP> is morpholino, " alk " is ethylene or propylene and their salts are prepared by reacting a compound II with an O-substituted hydroxylamine to form a compound I in which R is hydrogen and if desired, acylating this to introduce the acetyl group. Compounds I are analgesic, anti-inflammatory and immuno-suppressant agents and form with a carrier a pharmaceutical composition which may be administered orally, or parenterally.
